thank you, thank you, thank you for making me see that i'm wasting my time being in a world of bitter, twisted, self-absorbed people and helping me to wake up to the benefits of being a jehovah's witness!

if any of you come back with the ol - the jw's are full of bitter, twisted, people (in the most stupid arse voice of course!

), i'll reply, yeah, but not as rampant as the rest of the world.....call me crazy if you like, i don't care, because it's my salvation i'm worried about not yours....you've thrown it away because you can't see the bigger picture....trials and tribulation will always abound in this day and age...it is proving like job that we are not discouraged by the trials that gains us the most happiness because we know the trials won't go on much longer and jah will repay us 100 fold for our pain....that's a damn good reward to me!

Dear Violet:

I'm not bitter, twisted or self-absorbed, (well maybe a little bit twisted). But you certainly have a right to remain in the WTS and if that is your desire then it matters not to me.

My opinion is that the WTS has twisted scripture and decieved it's followers for well over 100 years now and personally, I'm glad to be free of it. I'm also glad to be free from attending meetings, assemblies and other JW requirments where lies are taught and the people attending are self-righteous twits. I know, because I used to be one of them. All in all, I'm better off now. But hey, each of us has to find our own sense of security and fulfillment.

You have my best wishes.

is anyone a pantheist ?.

in my search for the meaning of life, it has been only a month or two since i've actually become agnostic.

my reason for the final rejection of christianity was that i could not believe a god of love, justice and wisdom would create a world that along with life/pleasure would also foster death/suffering for seemingly infinite numbers of innocent and not-so-innocent beings.

God(s)is/are simply emotional crutches for dealing with painful situations in life that would otherwise be difficult to cope with.

Belief in God(s) is a convenient stopping point when inquiry as to the meaning of life (who really cares?) gets too difficult to ponder.

Primitive man needed "God(s) to help him understand the complex. We haven't progressed very far in that regard.

Most Frightening Door to Door Experience

in my hometown, this other witness and i were.

going from door to door one day when we reached one particular house.. the householder became so agitated by the presence of jws.

that he "sicked" his dog on us, but thank god it had a muzzle.

I was about 19 years old and pioneering. Behind on my hours I decided to do some late afternoon door to door by myself. I went up to the porch of an older frame house with a wood framed screen door. The main door was open. As I knocked on the door a very attractive black woman was walking toward the door from the shadows inside. As she got closer, I could see that her robe was completely open in the front exposing are tremendous specimen of womanhood. As I began to stumble through my litany of JW bullshit, she invited me to come in. I declined and remained on the porch, but was afraid I was going to punch a hole in her screen door. After almost 30 years I still have the mental image of the event and now wish I had gone into her house. Who knows, it could have resulted in a book study, or at least a return visit.

When I was at B'klyn Bethel in 1970 I was assigned to attend meetings at a congregation in Bedford-Sty and as a white boy I can tell you that it was a scary area back then. I also thought at the time that God would protect me as I went to and from the congregation. One night when I was getting on a bus near the congregation, headed back to Bethel, two young black gang members followed me and sat down one on each side of me on the bus. Since I was carrying my JW books and one of the thugs noticed, he told the other one that his mother was a JW and I told him that I was from the headquarters and eventually they left me alone. At the time I thought that Jehovah was looking out for me, but in reality these guys probably realized that I didn't have any money because at that time we only got $14 per month.

Thanks Simon. . . that was some of your best work. And Xander, were those JW songs being played by the organist at a hockey arena? As I was listening to the music, I started laughing uncontrollably and it's been more than 18 years since I heard those awful tunes.

I think the WTS needs more songs dealing with the dangers of giving head.

1975

there has been much said about the watchtower saying that the end would come in 1975. i have never seen any evidence that the watchtower said the end would definitely come in 1975. if there was such evidence, there would certainly be little or no witnesses left today, i believe.

i do not believe that excuses the fact that they definitely put that idea in peoples heads.

i was 10 years old then.

What I find MOST offensive about the WTS pronouncements on the 1975 date is their denial that they promoted the idea at all. Their take on it is that the brothers out in the hustings drew their own wrong inferences and impatiently ran ahead of the society. Well to that I say, "BULLSHIT"!

The local elders, DO's and CO's and the crowd in the JW headquarters worldwide are despicable liars when they spout pap like this about 1975. I'm now 53 and while I have made the best out of my life given the mental poison I was exposed to for the first 34 years, the damage was done and especially so with the 1975 debacle.

My all of those bastards rot in hell.
